Sacramento Kings star De'Aaron Fox avoided serious injury but is expected to miss some time after spraining his ankle during Sunday's game, The Athletic reported Monday.
It's a moderate sprain, per the report.
Fox injured the ankle during the Kings' 132-127 overtime win over the Los Angeles Lakers. He left the game but returned before getting subbed out for the final 3 1/2 minutes of overtime. He scored 37 points in 34 minutes.
Fox, 25, is off to a hot start, averaging 31.3 points in three games. His career scoring average is 20.3.
Fox was named to the All-NBA third team in 2022-23 when he averaged a career-high 25 points per game to go with 6.1 assists.
The Kings next play at Golden State on Wednesday.
